About Us
The MMÉLÌ ARTS FOUNDATION (MAF) is a pan-African nonprofit organisation committed to advancing creative excellence, cultural enrichment, and community development through the arts. Rooted in the belief that art is both a mirror and a catalyst for change, MAF exists to empower African creatives with the resources, opportunities, and recognition they need to thrive.
At MAF, we invest in imagination. We champion the diverse artistic expressions that shape Africa’s cultural identity by supporting creators, visionaries, and cultural institutions through strategic grantmaking, arts education, and inclusive programming.
Our work cuts across disciplines, from craft, design, and literature to dance, music, film, theatre, and the visual arts.
MAF serves as a dynamic platform for nurturing talent and connecting artists to the world. We organise creative, arts and cultural events to promote, educate and empower African creatives, provide substantial financial assistance to exceptional African artists at critical moments in their careers, enabling them to deepen their craft, take creative risks, and unlock their full potential.
