Our work cuts across disciplines, from craft, design, and literature to dance, music, film, theatre, and the visual arts.
WHO WE ARE
The MMÉLÌ ARTS FOUNDATION (MAF) is a pan-African nonprofit organisation committed to advancing creative excellence, cultural enrichment, and community development through the arts. Rooted in the belief that art is both a mirror and a catalyst for change, MAF exists to empower African creatives with the resources, opportunities, and recognition they need to thrive.
MISSION STATEMENT
At MMÉLÌ Arts Foundation, our mission is to advance Africa’s creative excellence by investing in artists, ideas, and institutions that shape the continent’s cultural future.
We empower African creatives with the resources, opportunities, and visibility they need to thrive, through grants, fellowships, residencies, education, and platforms that celebrate and amplify their voices. Rooted in community and driven by imagination, we exist to ensure that African art is not only preserved but propelled onto the global stage as a force for transformation, expression, and social change.
VISION STATEMENT
To position African creativity at the heart of global culture—where artists from the continent are empowered to lead, inspire, and redefine the future through imagination, excellence, and innovation.
